Hohoho, it’s Christmas day soon!! As many people ask me how to do a radio like mine in the sidebar, I will share it here!
It’s just the flash player of neolao and I have make a little script in php to parse the content of a folder on my ftp to found the mp3s.

Here the instructions :
- First, you must adjust some variables (the path) in the playlist.php. From here, we consider that you have chosen http://YOUR_ROOT/audio/
- You can also adjust height, colors, etc… in playlist.php and index.htm considering the syntax of neolao.
- Then upload the folder audio on your FTP according the path you have set in playlist.php. The files MUST be in http://YOUR_ROOT/audio/ in our case.
- To display the player in your page you must use a syntax like like I give in the Readme. Be careful to change every http://YOUR_ROOT/audio/ by the one you use. Here again, you can adjust height, colors, etc… considering the syntax of neolao
- Upload mp3′s in the folder http://YOUR_ROOT/audio/. Nothing else to do!

Maybe I will do in the future a little widget for wordpress to simplify the use of this radio.

Il s’agit juste du flash player de neolao auquel j’ai adjoint un petit script php pour parser le contenu d’un dossier ftp pour trouver les mp3.

- Premièremement, ajustez quelques variables (the path) dans playlist.php. On considérera que vous voulez mettre vos mp3 dans le dossier http://YOUR_ROOT/audio/
- Vous pouvez ajuster les dimensions, les couleurs, etc… dans playlist.php et index.htm en faisant attention à la syntaxe du player de neolao.
- Uploadez le dossier audio sur votre FTP à l’adresse que vous avez mis dans playlist.php. Donc ici les fichiers doivent être dans http://YOUR_ROOT/audio/
- Pour afficher le player dans votre sidebar, vous devez utiliser une syntaxe comme celle que je donne dans le fichier readme. Attention de bien changer tous les http://YOUR_ROOT/audio/ par l’url que vous utilisez vraiment. Là encore, vous pouvez ajustez les dimensions, couleurs, etc…
- Uploadez les mp3 dans le dossier http://YOUR_ROOT/audio/ . C’est fini!

Peut être que je ferai dans l’avenir un petit widget WordPress pour faciliter l’usage de cette radio.

But isn’t it illegal to play copyrighted songs on a radio on your website? I mean, I don’t know how this is in France, but in Germany you would have to pay a fee to the GEMA for maintaining such a radio. (Of course, nobody does though ^^)
In fact, I consider it’s like doing publicity for artist you like.

The directory audio can be changed if you change the path in playlist.php

now, how can I set value to make it autostart?
You just have to add in the code you insert in the sidebar (or in the index.php if it is for the popup) :
<param name= »autoplay » value= »1″ />
and I think it would work!

You should have a syntax like this :
